Cannabidiol, or CBD, is one of the most common of the 113 cannabinoids found in the Cannabis plant. Unlike tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, CBD is a non-psychoactive, and does not provide the ‘high’ that is most attributed to Cannabis use.
There have been very few research studies involving CBD due to the current Schedule 1 classification, though the FDA recently approved GW Pharmaceutical’s CBD-based drug, Epidiolex, as a treatment for two rare and severe forms of seizure (Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome and Dravet Syndrome). We expect more research studies using CBD after the passing of the 2018 Federal Farm Bill. Many people have used CBD to help treat insomnia, pain, inflammation, anxiety, and depression, among other ailments. The World Health Organization (WHO) recently released a report detailing its findings on CBD, and can be found here. Healing Ventures makes no claim to specific health benefits and we would advise you to consult your physician for any medical questions.
47 states currently allow residents to purchase CBD (Nebraska, South Dakota, and Idaho do not allow any Cannabis products), though with the passage of the 2018 Federal Farm Bill, interstate commerce of hemp-derived CBD is no longer illegal as a result of hemp-derived CBD being removed from the Controlled Substances Act. While CBD still technically remains a Schedule 1 drug even after the passage of the Federal Farm Bill, the DEA and FDA are likely to address the matter in early-2019 to align with the Federal Farm Bill. Each state has different cannabis laws, so we would advise you to check your individual state’s laws (https://norml.org/states) for further detail.
Our CBD isolate contains 0% THC and should be safe to consume if you are routinely drug tested. Full-spectrum products contain trace amounts of THC (<0.3%) and have reportedly led to positive drug tests in some cases. We would advise you consult your employer for any specific drug testing questions.
All of our CBD comes from U.S.-grown hemp from farms in Colorado, Kentucky, and Oregon. All of our CBD comes with a Certificate of Analysis from a third-party testing lab that details the levels of different cannabinoids, as well as tests for pesticides and hard metals.
